]]>An interior design consultation is a service offered by professional interior designers to help you create a personalized and cohesive design plan for your home. Whether you are starting from scratch or looking to refresh your current space, an interior design consultation can provide you with the guidance and expertise you need to transform your home into a space you love.
In this blog, I will share five tips on how to personalize your interior design consultation and make your living space truly your own.
Before your interior design consultation, take the time to gather inspiration for your home's interior design. You can use social media platforms like Pinterest and Instagram to find inspiration and save images that speak to your personal style. Sharing your inspirational images with your designer will help them understand your taste and preferences better.
Color is a powerful tool when it comes to personalizing your home's interior design. Consider incorporating your favorite hues into your decor, or adding pops of color through accent pieces like throw pillows, rugs, and artwork. An experienced designer can guide you in choosing colors that complement each other and create the desired look and feel.
Incorporating different textures into your interior design can add depth and personality to a room. You can use materials like wood, metal, and natural fibers to add warmth and visual interest to your living space. An interior design consultation can help you choose the right textures that align with your personal style.
Statement pieces can help showcase your personality in your home's design. Whether it's a bold piece of artwork or a unique piece of furniture, incorporating statement pieces into your interior design can make your living space truly yours.
Even the smallest details can make a big impact when it comes to personalizing your home's interior design. Adding decorative elements like interesting artifacts, books, and plants can help create a cozy and inviting atmosphere that reflects your personality. Your interior design consultant can help you choose the right details to suit your taste.
Personalizing your interior design consultation is essential to creating a living space that truly feels like home. By following these five tips, you can work with your interior designer to create a design plan that reflects your unique style and preferences.

Whether you're looking to increase your home's value by adding more storage, improving functionality, improving your quality of life, simply updating the look and feel of your space, or creating a stylish and comfortable living space, interior remodeling is worth considering. My interior remodeling services at Donna J. Barr Interior Design can help with the right planning, design, and execution to create a space that you will love for years to come.
In this blog, I will discuss how you can maximize your small space with interior remodeling and give you some tips and tricks to make the most of your square footage.
One of the keys to maximizing your small space with interior remodeling is to think vertically. Rather than using up valuable floor space, consider using your walls to add functional and stylish elements to your home. This might include adding floating shelves for extra storage, hanging artwork to create a focal point, or installing a vertical garden to add a touch of greenery.
Another way to make the most of your small space is to invest in multipurpose furniture. For example, a sofa bed can provide both seating and sleeping space, while a storage ottoman can serve as a footrest, a seat, and a place to store blankets and pillows. There are many innovative furniture options available that can help you save space and add functionality to your home.
When it comes to color choices, lighter tones can help open up your small space and make it feel more spacious. White, cream, and pale taupe are great options for walls, while pops of color can be added through accessories like throw pillows and curtains. Another trick to incorporate during the redesign of a small space is to use mirrors strategically to reflect light and make your space feel larger.
Built-in shelving and cabinetry can be a lifesaver in a small space. They can be customized to fit your specific needs and provide ample storage without taking up too much room. From built-in bookshelves to custom closets, at Donna J. Barr Interior Design. I can help you design and install functional and beautiful built-ins keeping it organized and clutter-free.
It's important to embrace the concept of minimalism during the interior remodeling of a small space. Too much clutter can make a small space feel even smaller, so focus on paring down your belongings and keeping only what you need. Opt for sleek and simple furniture pieces and decor, and resist the temptation to over-decorate.
With interior remodeling, you can maximize your small space and make it work for you. By following these tips, and working with me, you'll see how creative and functional design choices can transform your small space into a beautiful and serviceable home.

It is often said that the three greatest stresses in life are death, divorce and moving. All of these require a change to you, your family, your home and your lifestyle. Change is the only constant in the world, and learning to adapt to new changes can benefit you immensely.
The winds of change have been sweeping across the Interior Design industry too with new technologies like virtual reality (VR) augmented reality and 3D imaging having a big impact on the furniture industry and the interior design field.
You are likely to have experienced some version of virtual reality, augmented reality or a mixture of the two in the form of various apps or catalogs. Take ‘Pokémon Go’ or Snapchat's augmented reality elements in the form of a variety of real-time transformations, filters and special effects called Lenses. There is also Wayfair's ability to show a sofa in the space where you are pointing your camera.
This same technology has been refined and expanded to address one of the biggest stumbling blocks often faced by the customer - their inability to imagine how a piece of furniture will look at home. It’s a simple problem, but it demands a complex solution which includes virtual reality, augmented reality and 3D imaging.
The incorporation of these technologies is a major boon to the interior designer. With these new technologies, we are now able to show our clients how their newly created living room looks in a full 360-degree view. It also allows us to show clients how a change of fabric colors and patterns on a sofa will look or even change the style of the sofa.
Furniture is not the only changes that can be shown. The ability to show a client what a tile backsplash will look like with large scaled tiles or subway tiles or mosaic tiles is also a major positive for us. It provides clients with a better understanding of what we have created for them.
From glorified gaming to helping with healthcare, VR is set to take center stage in many an industry over the next few years. Interior experts are excited about its uses within their profession because interior designers now have the power to create a digital environment without physically moving anything. At the same time, 3D visuals and live-streaming establish a new level of transparency between the client and the designer.
As a client, you can now give input to every stage of your project from anywhere in the world and simultaneously save time, money and effort. As technology becomes more advanced and readily available to the public, we may not be far away from living in a world where people have an interactive wall in their houses from which to work and communicate with the world.
The only downside about VR is that for most interior designers the hardware and software are still incredibly expensive. Despite the extensive applications for these technologies, building information modeling, and virtual reality is still largely reserved for large-scale commercial projects and events.
Right now, anyone with a smartphone can download a VR app. If you’re an avid ‘DIY’er or follower of design trends, there are applications such as Hutch and Modsy who will assist you in finding your inner interior designer. These applications are offering consumers the ultimate try-it-before-you-buy-it confidence and empowering them to take the reins in their own hands.
While many people will enjoy tackling their designs on their own, not everyone feels confident enough or have the time to create their own space. Should you prefer to have someone else take care of the research and design work along with working with manufacturers and freight companies, get in touch with Donna J. Barr.
I advise clients on topics ranging from how to enhance the value – and resale value – of their homes to how to “age in place” in those homes because you deserve the most original design, the best customer service and the most experienced design team for your project.
If you have any questions about the new technologies being used, please contact me by clicking here. To learn more about the interior designing services I have to offer, please click here.
]]>Have you ever thought about hiring an interior designer but then dropped the idea because you weren’t sure how they might help you? There are a lot of clients who are unsure of what an interior designer does, how much interior design costs, and whether it’s beneficial to hire someone to help you design your home. To help clear the air, I have answered some of the most Frequently Asked Questions about working with an interior designer.
1. How much do you charge?
This is usually the first question I receive.
If you are building, purchasing, or remodeling your home – you already know that your home is your largest investment. Creating the best possible space that works for you and your family is of utmost importance to make the most of that investment. It is imperative that you protect your investment by hiring an interior design “advocate”, saving you time, money and headaches on your projects while advising you on how to enhance the value and resale value of your home. This is all in addition to creating unique, custom interiors for you.
Your investment for my services is based on either an hourly consultation fee or occasionally a full project fee depending upon your specific needs. To read more about my services, please click here.
2. Is there a contract?
I have a simple Letter of Agreement that is signed by both of us. Included in the agreement are the hourly consultation and mileage fees, purchasing options and basic conditions of our agreement. If warranted, this simple Letter of Agreement goes along with the project specifications for full project pricing.
3. What guarantees do you provide?
My firm is backed by a team of some of the region’s leading contractors, drapery fabricators, window fashion specialists, painters, upholsterers, flooring experts, electricians, plumbers and other professionals. I have worked with many of these contractors for more than thirty years and continue to make clients extremely happy with the final outcomes of their dream spaces.
4. How long will my project take?
Each project’s specification and scale are unique just as you are unique. While I have a general idea of the timing, much of that depends upon how quickly you make decisions based on the options given to you.
While it is fun to watch all of the HGTV series, you must not expect that your project will be completed overnight or by next week as is often portrayed. More time and energy and people are involved in those projects behind the scenes over a longer period of time than is implied.
5. I’ve never worked with a designer before- what should I expect and how do I work with you?
Be prepared to enjoy this experience and relationship! Once we determine that we both feel comfortable with each other through our conversation and a complete understanding of your project, a Letter of Agreement will be presented and signed by all decision makers. Together, we will discuss the project goals in detail and set up a follow up meeting to review design concept. What you can expect from me as your designer:
· I create a proposed design concept that will include as warranted: plan drawings, paint/wallcovering options, surfaces and materials, cabinetry, furnishings, fabrics and accessories. Often, there is more than one option available for your selection.
· Then I will present the design concept and subsequently obtain design concept approval from all decision makers with any revisions as needed.
· I meet with contractors and subcontractors as necessary for initial budgets
· We will have follow up meetings to review any revisions and budget changes
· The next stage is Design Development which includes refinement of the concept and final selections of all items required for the completion of your project.
· We will conduct final meetings to review additional revisions and budget changes, specifications and construction documents as required
· I will assist with review of final bids and selections of team depending upon project scope
· Then it’s time to prepare for project beginning and creation of your dream!
6. Can I use some of my favorite pieces of furniture or accessories in the design?
Absolutely! It is great fun to incorporate your special pieces into your final design!
7. Do I have to make purchases through you?
You do not have to make purchases through me, however, there are times when some items are only available to the trade. In those cases, you can purchase them through me at my cost-plus advantage pricing.
8. Why do I need an interior designer if I already have an architect or home builder/designer?
An architect or home builder/designer considers the exterior and general interior rooms you specify. I have rarely seen an architect or home builder designer spend time with you in your home listening to and seeing how you live. They do not consider how your own furnishings and your normal living patterns will impact the spaces that they have created. For instance, the location of interior doors, windows and focal points like fireplaces all impact the location of your furniture. Sometimes those locations can interrupt the natural traffic flow from one room to the next or block a view of the outside. An interior designer will have discussed in depth your preferences for your living spaces with you and will have inventoried and measured any furnishings you want to use in your new space. Furniture plans for each room will clarify whether all of those locations will work best for you or whether there needs to be any modification to the architectural plans that will save you time and revisions charges.
If you have any more questions about working with an interior designer, get in touch with Donna J. Barr. As an award-winning designer, known for my extraordinary customer service and unique interiors, I offer services ranging from project management and space planning to kitchen and bath design and furniture selection that will help you save time, money and stress. ]]>Though we would all love to stay forever young, aging is inevitable. Eventually, everyone has to go through the aging phase, and it’s always better to think about it sooner than later. Proper planning will help make sure you and your family are ready to face anything that might arise.
While most people invest in pension plans during their young years to help them stay financially stable when they’re older, very few of them prepare their house for old age. It’s essential to consider the minute details of aging in place and plan ahead of time so that it will not only make your life comfortable and convenient but will also allow you to ease worries about your loved ones. However, while preparing your home for the autumn of your life, you may fall prey to some myths. We’ve debunked three myths to make you aware of what the reality is.
MYTH 1: Only seniors need to make home safety changes in their homes.
Many people would prefer to live in their own homes for the rest of their lives. Confusion about when and how to make adjustments to continue to live in your home safely, comfortably and independently as you age is common. Aging in place design is a universal design that allows those folks who are currently able bodied, to live into their best years starting now. It is important to make adjustments before you need them such as no step entries, handrails, non-slip tiles, elevated toilets and vanities and touchless faucets. Making these changes and purchases now in your higher earning years will serve as an advantage both physically and financially later on in life.
MYTH 2: Showers with glass doors and built in seats are the best options for universal design
Sliding doors can block half of the shower entrance creating an accessibility problem. Also, built-in seats are often at the far end of the shower which is too far from the controls. Options such as door-less shower entrances and drains at the shower entrance can address accessibility and functionality. Portable seats are much more flexible and often cost less.
MYTH 3: Universal Design lowers your home's resale value.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Remodeling your interior to make it usable for people of all ages and physical abilities enhances the value and resale value of the home by creating a larger pool of likely purchasers. Also, there are far more attractive and well-priced options for handrails, grab bars, flooring options, plumbing fixtures, ergonomic hardware, and construction materials than ever before.
At Donna J. Barr Interior Design, I design comfortable and functionally correct personal spaces for clients of all age groups. And I bring my extensive experience of forty years to the best use of my clients. I assist my clients in customizing their home to meet their changing needs and lifestyle. ]]>At Donna J. Barr Interior Design, our customers love us almost as much as we love them! Here are a few nice things our customers have said about us recently:
“This whole redecorating has been such an interesting journey. My latest 'ah-ha' moments have been realizing that not only can I not accessorize, not only does my mind swirl when I'm in stores, but I also slow you down from your lightning speed at making it happen. Again, you have been so graceful in letting me discover that. So, now I know I'll be most effective if I just stick to sewing and give you space to polish the job. Hey, I feel better already!”
- Pam
“I just wanted to let you know that the painter started today. She has just done the entry so far but the color looks fabulous. Of course, it would because you picked it!”
- Denyse
“The bedroom is breathtaking. So thanks for all your work in creating a masterpiece”
- Helen
“The living room, furniture, and pictures are smashing! Our gathering was a great success, thanks in part to your ability to pull our furniture together in wonderful conversational arrangements. Many commented on how cozy, inviting and comfortable everything was. And we agree!”
- Andy and Barbara
“The bedroom turned out yummy. Jay, the painter did a great job and the environment is great on a cold winter evening.”
- Jill
“We love our kitchen! The first couple of days I just couldn’t wait to go into it and just woke up wanting to see it. It feels and looks so warm. I wish we would have done it years ago when we did the counter tops, it was my vision and I am just sorry we waited so long. I also still just marvel at your arrangement of the items (collectibles over the cabinets) it’s just perfect! Our son, an artist was super impressed! So, thank you so much! We also loved the wallpaperer and painters. They are great people and great professionals! ”
- Judy

]]>Doesn’t it look easy on all those HGTV shows? There is a worn-out sofa in a dull room, no interesting features or colors to make the room come alive. Ta Da! - in comes the designer and suddenly there is a sensational room, terrific furniture placement, stunning artwork, and wow factors galore! Wouldn’t you just love to have one of the Property Brothers give your design challenge a makeover?
You can. Hiring a professional interior designer is not just for the select few on HGTV or for just the wealthiest in our society. As a matter of fact, hiring a pro is in your best interest and your budget’s!
Time and again, I hear a client express “We LOVE our [new space] …..wish we would have done it years ago and been enjoying it. You understand our financial constraints and have worked within our budget. Thank you!”.
That is exactly what a good professional will do for you. A designer can save you from making costly mistakes. They will listen to you and discern your needs. An interior designer will help you find reliable contractors, and help you select materials and products that fit you budget and meet your design requirements.
For instance, you are in the midst of remodeling a kitchen and family room. You tear down a wall to open up the space and then let the electrical contractor put in the standard number of outlets. More often than not, you will have furniture in the middle of the space, nowhere near the outlets and no opportunity to plug in a lamp. Correcting such a mistake calls for a costly change order. A designer would have created a furniture placement drawing at the outset of the project noting the need for a floor outlet as well as supervised the contractors to make sure they were following the plan. You can avoid expensive mistakes, not to mention the time and stress, by hiring that professional.
SAVE TIME AND STRESS WITH PROFESSIONAL ASSESSMENT
Yes, Design has a process, and many homeowners don’t know that order putting the cart before the horse. We are trained in the systematic phases
of a project.
As is often said, “You don’t know, what you don’t know.” There is a learning curve to any new project and mistakes made in homebuilding and remodeling can be very costly and frustrating, unless you a willing to spend the time to study. Most people prefer to spend that same time doing things they enjoy. A professional designer is your advocate in this process, working with contractors and resources to keep it on schedule and supplying you with all of the information that fits suits your style and plan.
We are educated to see and enhance details that many homeowners miss – this is an everyday occurrence for a pro. More often than not, we’ve been here before with another project - we know where you need outlets, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, the location of windows and doors and then put a spin on the design beyond your wildest dreams.
EFFICIENT USAGE OF YOUR BUDGET
Have you purchased something on the internet and realized when you received it that it was not the quality nor the size that you had expected? Or was it damaged in shipment? Was the customer service representative helpful or did you have to wait forever to talk with someone to resolve the issue?
Yes, almost everything is available on the internet these days. It is in knowing how to use that information that makes the internet a valuable tool. Interior Designers have suppliers, crafts people and resources that they have used for many years. They have built up a rapport with them and can call the appropriate person to quickly take care of tedious logistics freeing you to do the essential things in your life.
Designers also understand and can translate sizes for the appropriate scale and proportion in your space eliminating costly mistakes. Many people tell me how they regretted purchasing a sofa that turned out to be the wrong size or color for their space. How frustrating and a waste of your valuable funds!
Everything in your home is a major investment. Interior Designers are trained to increase your investment and help you enjoy the process. We have local, national and international resources that have the perfect item for your project and for the best price. So, skip the hours on the internet and get back to doing your favorite things!
INCREASES VALUE OF YOUR HOME, BOOSTS BUYER APPEAL, GIVING YOU A FASTER RETURN AND PUTS MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET
It has been proven that a well-designed home not only improves the quality of life for its’ homeowners, it also increases its resale value. Whether or not you are ready to sell your home, no one wants a home that sits on the market. It can be frustrating, especially when you are ready for your next adventure!
Designers are invaluable. They present your home to its best advantage and you can still live in your home comfortably. We keep the process of preparing your home for showings moving along smoothly while putting money back in your pocket! Now put that in your piggy bank!
PROVIDES ONE OF A KIND “WOW” INTERIORS
Let’s face it, designers customize your space beyond your imagination.
We are trained to think and create from a different perspective. Is it any wonder that your home would be any different? My clients are always saying what a difference my ideas have make to their original vision.
One client sent an email to me saying: “The staircase balustrade was completed an hour ago and it has kept looking more sensational with every detail. What a terrific difference it makes to the room… Thank you for being so creative with us!”
And a longtime client who took some time before agreeing to the paint color selected for their main living area continues to tell me how much their guests love the color and continue the discussion of describing the color – is it blue or green…?
Providing a one of a kind WOW interior is a designers greatest gift to their clients.

Hi, I’m Donna J Barr, proud owner of Donna J Barr Interior Design.
Today, I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
What parts of your work do you find most enjoyable?
Donna: The best part of my job is working with my clients and seeing their pleasure in the final product. From a very young age, interior design has been my passion. I believe that a beautiful environment is necessary for well-being. It is my mission and desire to create an ambiance that suits each and every client.
Where Did you grow up? Go to School?
Donna: I am originally from Fort Wayne, IN. I attended Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana for Interior Design.
How long have you been in business?
Donna: I have been designing for 40 years. After college I started in the interior design studio of L.S. Ayres. In 1989, I opened my own studio. I continue to work with my wonderful clients, many have been with me for more than 15 years.
What are your responsibilities?
Donna: As the designer, it is my responsibility to create the best design solution for each client's particular needs and specifications. I provide the client with samples, drawings and photos of the items that together make up the full design. As needed, I research and recommend contractors and manufacturers. Once the customer agrees, I offer turnkey service. I gather pricing for estimates for the work and materials, order preparation documents, shepherd purchases through to shipment, confirm all materials for accuracy and application, and schedule and handle the deliveries. In addition, as the owner, I am responsible for managing my business, including advertising and marketing.
My design work includes everything from consultation on a single issue such as paint or fabric; all the way to the full scale remodelling of a room or home, or a new construction. My typical day includes communicating with vendors and clients regarding projects in process. I am often researching items for new projects, creating proposals, and writing up purchase order and invoices. I keep up-to-date on new materials and construction techniques (including environmentally friendly options). I’m always on the lookout for new samples, and interesting options from discontinued items as well. Daily, I stay on top of updates to my accounting records and my marketing projects. On average, I work about 8 hours per day.
What are the most important decisions that you face daily as owner of your business?
Donna: The most important decisions I make on a daily basis revolve around how I can best serve my clients. Their needs are my top priority. The skills which I regularly use are listening, diplomacy, and teaching. The teaching skill is key. This allows my clients and contractors to fully understand the reasoning behind each design decision. I attribute my success to my own hard work and the support of mentors, friends and family.
What has been your most satisfying moment in your personal life/business?
Donna: The most rewarding and satisfying part of my work is each time I hear a client say "this space is even more beautiful than what I imagined". Nothing brings me greater joy than knowing that a client feels happy, relaxed and productive in their new space.
What are you hobbies? What do you do in your non work time?
Donna: Away from work, I love gardening, entertaining and music, especially playing the piano. The arts are a form of beauty where I believe everyone can benefit. The visual and auditory art forms shape and share how we view and experience the world around us.
What are you personal values?
Donna: I believe in treating all people with kindness and respect. I hold these two personal values close to my heart. I consider them imperative in all aspects of life whether in business or personal situations.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
If you, or someone you know could benefit from my expertise in interior design, I invite you to get in touch.
Sincerely,
Donna

]]>1) The Basics – What is your budget and your design esthetic? The best interior designs happen when you’ve answered these questions before you look for an interior designer. Don’t walk into the interior design process without first setting an approximate budget and how you want your home to look. An interior designer can do a lot of planning for you, but they need to have the basic parameters given to them so they can start working on a design plan. If you like Southwestern décor, then tell your interior designer so they can fit your preferences into the overall design. When choosing an interior designer, you need to understand that even though a budget or design esthetic may change, you and your interior designer need a starting point.
2) Finding your Interior Designer – Ask for referrals. Chances are if you just bought the home, that your real estate agent may know of an interior designer with whom he or she has some familiarity. In fact, they may have a list. You can also check out the homes of friends and family. If they’ve used interior designers and you like the look they achieved, ask for the name of the person they used. Referrals are a key to the best interior design. Of course, you will then go to the website of the designer and look through his or her portfolio. You will get a feel for the range that the designer has. This will help you decide if you want to make a phone call to this designer or not.
3) Project Costs – For the best interior design, research project costs. If you’ve never been a part of an interior design project before, you’ll want to have an idea on what it actually costs and what it entails. You should probably do a little bit of homework on your own before you meet with your potential designer so you can ask pertinent and intelligent questions about the best interior design. You can talk to friends and neighbors who have done makeovers similar to what you’re doing. They can tell you how much time it took and what it cost. This will give you some idea. You can also do hard research. Remodeling magazine’s annual “Cost vs. Value” report will give you fantastic hard data.
4) Budgets and Priorities – Be clear about your budget for the best interior design in your price range. You need to be upfront with your interior designer about how much money you are willing and able to spend on your design project. Many interior designers wish that clients would be more forthcoming about their real budget so feel free to state yours clearly and definitively. Sometimes, your vision may not match your budget. Your interior designer can help you prioritize your wish list so you can do some of what you want now and work on doing the rest later. It doesn’t have to be an all or nothing proposition. 5) Interior Design Fees – Understand the billing process to get the most out of your interior design. Interior designers frequently charge an hourly fee plus a markup for handling the purchase of furnishings and materials. Some designers will bill by the hour with no purchasing services offered. ]]>Another challenge with e-design is that a computer screen only allows you to use one of your senses to decide what colors, textures, and materials to put in your home – but there’s a whole world of other senses that you have to live with after a redesign. Texture, warmth, and weight can be just as important as color, light, and shade. Where designs may look good on paper, implementing those designs may actually be impractical for your property. For example, a texture or type of fabric might look good on a digital screen, but may feel too jagged or coarse for comfort when experienced in person. Likewise, different types of fabric and window designs can have a big impact on environmental comfort by assisting with temperature, light, and noise control – benefits which are hard to appreciate over the Internet.
The best way to approach interior home design is with a careful eye, an open mind, and in person. When you’re up close and personal with samples, colors, and textures, you’ll be able to form a much more complete mental picture of how your space will look when renovations are complete – a much more complete mental picture than if you tried designing your space over the Internet. An experienced designer working with you in person to decorate your living or work space can also advise you on the best looking options for your budget, personality, and available square footage. You can compare samples side by side or mix and match styles of samples, colors, and textures until you find the type and style that fits the look you want to accomplish.

]]>Too many homeowners get stuck at the starting line with their design or remodeling project. They waste time fretting over where, when and how to start the work.
For starters, decide on the key priority for the project: the kitchen, perhaps, or a bathroom or the master bedroom. Then determine what’s most important to you about this most important room. In the case of a kitchen remodel, for example, ask yourself if you’re primarily interested in upgrading the cabinets, the countertops, or the appliances.
Decide on what’s most important to you in each room, and have your designer make that the focus. Focal points can include everything from the cabinetry in the kitchen, and a soaking tub in the bathroom, to a chair in the family room and a painting in the master bedroom. Once you’ve established your priorities, you can plan a budget and schedule the work accordingly.
We can help you in that planning process by providing you with an overview of the project, along with budget guidelines and construction timelines.
]]>That means deciding on what you need, as well as what you want. Ask yourself how much storage space you really need. You can save money by ordering fewer cabinets.
Do you plan to use the kitchen for purposes other than eating? If so, that could and should affect size and style of the countertops you select.
Do you want to expand the open space in your family room? If so, that should influence the size and quantity of the furniture you invest in. It makes no sense to buy furniture until you’ve planned the space, and considered things like traffic flow, focal points, and outside views.
Think about your changing lifestyle and interests as you update and upgrade your space.
Transforming an extra bedroom into an office might be your best move if you’re considering starting a home-based business. Installing better kitchen cabinets and appliances makes sense if more entertaining heads your wish list.
As the luxury design specialist in Indianapolis and Carmel, we can advise you on how to enhance both the value and the usefulness of your home.
